Project Mission

Up Wind Project Inc. (UWPI), is a not for profit cross media platform. Awarded tax exempt status (501c3), UWPI promotes mental health awareness and advocates for Teacher Appreciation & Science Education

It is estimated that 1 out of every 5 teachers in the United States is leaving  the teaching profession each year. Research shows that when teaching professionals improve in health, physically and emotionally, performance efficacy also improves, and student learning outcomes increase.  Quality in pedagogy is further advanced with public/private partnerships that support teacher recruitment, professional development, and teacher retention - especially in our most struggling school communities.

The mission of the Teacher Talk and Peer Support  platform is to promote emotional health and encourage self-care/wellness. Managed online communities combined with online professional development ensure knowledge of early warning signs of emotional fatigue and how to practice healthy emotionalself-care. The benefits of self-care directly impacts teacher retention

We invite our peers (all teachers) to be informed and aware of mental health, and support mental health and  emotional inteligence. Our self care is our first step in nurturing our students.

.

Teacher Appreciation and Education Via  professional development and teacher peer support (TPS) we maintain proven methods that ellevate emotional wellness.

We promote self-empowerment to cultivate the healthy life skills, habits, attitudes, behaviors, relationships, and resilience for social-emotional well-being and success.

We provide awarness of mindfulness that can contribute to optimal conditions for learning. With best practices and collaboration in peer conversations we  support a mindfulness culture, including positive reflection, healthy consultion, good feelings for our best selves, inside and outside of self. We encourage all to value teachers and education, especially STEM education for inclusive communities.

Teacher Peer Support Group Meetings are free and available to any teacher anywhere by request on TUESDAYS at 7PM (Eastern) on ZOOM. And Sundays at 4PM (Eastern) on Clubhouse.
